For me the Kyokushinkai is that overplus, that idea which pushes me forward beyond the ordinary in my capabilities, and which motivates me to be the best I can. This combines the physical and spiritual disciplines of firm bushido.

Budo could be the way in the sense of the highest form of karate do. In words of Musashi he who has masterd the sword and the sense of strategy, he could be called a swordsman, kendoka, karateka. Takuan says: he who came to possess the sword T'aia of the supreme ability, he can win battles without retreating a single step or advancing a single step. That is mastery of budo. Oss!
