Traditional Japanese Karate-do & Budo Archives
Shotokai, founded by Master Gichin Funakoshi • The Non-Contraction Way, Natural Posture, and Spiritual Sincerity
An open community directory of traditional Shotokai and Master Gichin Funakoshi Karate-do schools, study groups, and associations worldwide.
Karate-do Shotokai has always prioritized sincere personal practice, natural body movement, and mutual respect over rigid commercial structures or sporting competition. Over many decades, schools and study groups have flourished worldwide through various teachers, shared friendships, and independent paths. Whether your dojo is affiliated with a recognized association (such as NKS Japan, KDS under Harada Sensei, KDSE under Murakami Sensei, Hiruma Sensei groups), traditional Funakoshi lineages such as Shotokan Karate of America (under Sensei Tsutomu Ohshima), or Shintaido movement arts derived from Master Egami, anyone who shares the spirit of Master Gichin Funakoshi and Master Shigeru Egami is warmly welcome here.
This directory belongs to everyone, helping practitioners, friends, and travelers connect across borders.
